Corks + Caftans

Scenes from The Allison.

March 8, 2010 4 Comments

[The pool at The Allison Inn & Spa.]

Approaching full recovery status, I made Rob accompany me down to the pool in the hopes I could soak away any remaining aches and pains plotting to ruin any more of our trip.

[Even though I forgot my bathing suit. Ssh.]

I could have spent a whole day right there. They open up all of those glass doors in the summer—divine. Have you booked your stay here yet?

[Nice wake, dork!]

Things I’m sad I didn’t do there, given our short trip and busy schedule: get spa treatments, use the awesome gym, sit out on the back courtyard with a book. Things I’m happy we did get to do: eat lunch from a local deli in some Adirondack chairs on a hill, have sunset cocktails on the balcony; and, obvy, order in breakfast.

Prior to staying here, I thought we’d never find a better place than our favorite spot in Napa, Milliken Creek. In fact, The Allison was not only flawless, but employs some of the nicest, most genuine people I’ve ever come across in the industry. If I lived in Newberg, that bar would be a frequent haunt of ours, I have no doubt.

Stay tuned for some more quick photo posts from our stay and thanks to everyone there for making it perfection!

Lizzie – the mention of Adirondack Chairs made me think of you and Joe!

Cheers and Thank You – once again. I don’t wish to seem like I am stalking you… but these photos are fantastic. Once again… amusing story, pace, and anecdotes.. I am in the industry and forget my suit every time and then begin waffling between what are the *least* offensive options (not for myself, but for others). =) We truly appreciate the time you took preparing this… you have no idea how much it helps.
