[J.Crew velvet blazer, shorts + Pendleton wool bag + Golden Goose boots + Low Luv silver + Juicy chain]
Getting happy about Fall may have a lot to do with the fashion and novelty lattes and other peripheral bonai, but for me, and how I tend to be about shut-eye [like a ferocious, protective puma], Fall’s all about the reemergence of quality sleep. I’m talking windows wide open. Rob shivers, his complaints muzzled with husbandly devotion, and Eli crawls under the duvet and drapes across my belly like a Dali clock. Bliss is waking up and bringing my hand up to touch an icy nasal appendage.
Pendleton is best in small doses, methinks. Scored this for $17 on Urban Outfitters. It completes everything I put on these days in a wonderfully mismatched way.
I guess Fall fashion takes a close second to sleep. I’m digging the military jackets—those WWI-style aviation ones with big flap pockets. I have to get my hands on one that’s more feminine than this amazing one of Rob’s from Vietnam I wore here. Until then, I’m transitioning with this J.Crew velvet blazer from last year. The peplum is sweet and equestrian and military it its own way.
There are lots of out-takes for a purportedly simple shoot like this. I thought I’d share the following because I’m feeling jovial.
All hail the third atmospherical shift of Fall: the advent of autumnal beverages! Harvest Moon and Full Moon ales, heavier red varietals, spiked ciders and hot toddies… blimey.
Sorry for the useless chatter here. I wish I had something noteworthy to discuss, like possums or bums picking wedgies.
Cheers,
-Carey

That velvet jacket is delicious. Your Pendleton swoon-worthy. Don’t get me started on those boots, and bums picking wedgies? Well, that’s just the icing on the cake.
Merci,
Shan
’tis a true phenomenon

Look at your leaves already changing! It’s approx 96 (bazillion) degrees in VA still, so no changing leaves and no pumpkin spice lattes yet. I’m at the ready once that temp dips below 80, you better believe.
I went to Charlottesville to visit a friend a few weeks ago and we came across a “J.Crew Warehouse Sale!” sign so we obviously abandoned all other plans for the afternoon and spent 2 hours digging through cardboard boxes in a mirror-less, fitting room-less box of a building. Anyway, I saw a variation of that blazer there (in a light silvery-gray) that I wanted RAL BAD but UVA sorority girls are not.joking. when it comes to their j.crew clearance cashmere — I got scared and stopped hunting for my size. WAH.
No wonder you were sweating your arse off – i had shorts and a tank top on cleaning the house and was dying! Loving those boots!
Hey hey! I moved from CT to CA about a year ago. Fall just isn’t the same out West. Love the pure style post and the foliage. Thank you!
