Corks + Caftans

[Hanging on the High Line: Missoni shawl + DKNY sweater + Banana jacket + ASOS booties + Current/Elliott jeans = total bag lady.]

Ended up being a little colder on Saturday than we anticipated… we kept making plans, then ending up huddled in the car looking for parking spots. Kind of a great sort of day if you ask me… wandering and laughing and improvising with layers.

You know the gallery section of the High Line? We waited until the street was empty then walked into the middle of the road and gave them a show—I whipped my layers open like a flasher while Kristin turned around and wiggled her backside at them.

[KC and me discussing what we’d do in front of a window if we were staying at the Standard. I saw a dude applying deoderant… or antiperspirant, I can’t be sure.]

I grabbed everything warm in my suitcase and piled it on:

Quote of the day: “There is a staggering level of sobriety to this day’s activities.” Well, there was.

That’s an ominously cold-looking sunset. Cool thing is it’s only going to get colder from here on out. And by cool I mean ‘awful.’

We had such strong hope for a warm(ish) day — you in shorts originally and my wool trench left on the hanger. A thousand thanks for letting me borrow the bomber.

For anyone worried about that staggering level of sobriety, rest assured that the generous crews at a few Carroll Gardens/Boerum Hill establishments helped rectify the shortage later.

i was there last year, in december…my first time in nyc. we went to that park, too! i’d love to be in ny right now…exploring the city, eating great food, bundled up…jealous! however, i don’t know that i’d be super thrilled about the chill in the air. 😉

perhaps the chicest bag lady ever (….but you don’t look like one). i understand why you piled on the layers…it’s cold up there!

it’s been eerily warm here in chicago, but i know it’s just a tease because i feel as if we’re about to get dumped on (snow, i mean) for six straight months real soon.
