Corks + Caftans

Like the north wind whistlin’ down the sky.

Made an attempt to grill out. Ambitious. We’d been outside for 5 minutes when the clouds blew in, the temperature dropped by about 15 degrees, and it started… to snow. I took to my Facebook page to rant, but I have little vitriol left in me for here.

Lately: a couple of bad Pinots, compulsively lighting matches from an old box I found in a drawer; Jim Croce, Depeche Mode, Doves, Coolrunnings and Procol Harum; odd adjustments to spring, such as only remembering to shave one leg; obsessing over Stealing Beauty; filling online shopping bags with baby floral print everything and fringey boots; and, cataclysmic dreams about sinking ferries and melting mountains.

I miss my mom and dad, too. Wonder if I’ll ever grow out of that stabbing stomach pain that being homesick has always given me. Lunch hath cometh and Rob is home with a sandwich; praise the Queen of Shebah.

I still feel like I’m a homesick kid at camp. Your porch looks awesome–I can see why you are anxious to grill!

I was on a ferry Sunday AM to a small island I think you know, lotsa tourists with upset tummies as the north atlantic did it’s best “Deadliest Catch” imitation. Thankfully it’s only a one hour ride. The SE Light says hi.

Saw ‘Jules et Jim’, as per one of your posts – amazing film. Thanks
