Fibre Craft: handmade ties and accessories from RVA.

September 6, 2012 4 Comments

We had a blast hanging out with Christie—creator of RVA’s coolest handmade ties, and designer behind Fibre Craft. Christie and I met up for a beer a couple of months ago at Ipanema and talked RVA, fashion, blogging, and careers, and she gave me a serious case of do-what-you-love-itis. Because she’s putting some major time, energy, and TLC into making these insane ties, and she’s killing it.

I could write a whole post about her bike (robin’s egg blue beach cruiser, with a wine crate attached to the back), but her ties caught us like deer in the headlights.

They’re a narrower cut, sleek, and in casual, wear with anything reclaimed fabrics that range from dapper to daring. I love that they take the guesswork out of wearing a tie in a more current way, but I’ll let the photos do the talking. (And Rob? Rob’s about to be a tie-a-day kind of guy.)

Browse the full collection of ties here.

Did I mention the clutch bags, too? Soft suede and canvas, perfectly slouchy, and effortless. Christie gifted me a hot pink one I now take with me everywhere and flop onto restaurant tables with much (un)practiced purpose.

Dayglo tribal. Get it before I do.

Fibre Craft is a line of handmade accessories for him and her inspired by
and created from recycled and vintage materials. The more texture, detail,
and inspiration that can be drawn from the material’s original use, the
more unique each final piece will become. Every accessory featured is one
of a kind.

Fibre Craft accessories are all handmade in Richmond, Virginia with the
utmost care and attention to detail.

Yay for all the creative, awesome peeps getting it done in Richmond! Thanks for coming and playing with us, Christie!

Like Fibre Craft on Facebook to see where she’ll be featuring her ties around town, check out her online store, and most importantly, never wonder what to buy a dude again.
