Corks + Caftans

Moroccan wedding blanket.

August 29, 2010 14 Comments

[Moroccan wedding blanket  I got from the lovely Maryam of My Marrakesh.]

I retract all previous complaints—verbal, electronic, and otherwise—about people posting excessive amounts of photos of babies. My sympathy for their affliction, however, is not because I plan on joining the ranks. It’s because I now know what it feels like to be in possession of the most beautiful, brilliant thing I’ve ever laid eyes on:

a Moroccan wedding blanket.

When I saw it, I knew it was something we’d have for the rest of our lives. Something 100% unique. Magical, transformative, spectacular in every way.

Every single one was gorgeous; it was almost impossible to choose. In the end, I went for the most colorful one I could find. Go big or go home, right?

Maryam said it has protective powers—I hope they work against Eli, who I’ve found mysteriously licking the stripes of shag on a few occasions.

Best investment ever. Go check out her Flickr set, she has a whole bunch of beautiful blankets, and rugs and poufs.

p.s. it lives in purse form. Look at this gorgeous Chanel bag!

Oh I’m glad to know there’s aren’t completely ridiculous. (I had a nightie when I was little that said that on it so it’s sort of a sentimental thing.) They’re from Lollia, I got them from One Kings Lane at an INSANE discount (I think I paid $25 for both.) They have beautiful duvets!

I think they’re beautiful too. I just worry about my dogs having their way with one. I go thru Suzani’s like paper napkins. It’s ridiculous.

I looked through the Flickr set, and you certainly have the most gorgeous blanket of the lot 🙂 It really is something special. I envision it in my house with permanent marker and grape juices stains on it 😉 It truly resides in the better house 😀
