Corks + Caftans

Caravan girl.

[Daughters of the Revolution dress + Citrine by the Stones necklace + Luxury Divas hat + Chaiken lace shirt… + KJL ring, Linea Pelle belt, Kors boots, Andrew Marc vest, all eBay.]

What I wore to Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt and uncle’s house atop a hill in rural Vermont. Happiness is having familial contingents from both sides located in the Green Mountain State.

Happiness is picking up right where you left off.

Immense amounts of laughter, copious glasses of bold, big-bodied wine, and a deep, soul connection with a petite Beagle who stole my heart—take away the atomic hangover I had this morning and it was perfect.

You may remember this dress from here, one of my all-time favorite posts ever last year. I was so excited ShopBop featured it on their blog How to Wear Resort Florals Now; check it out if you have not already.

I have no idea what kind of fur this is ($24 on eBay 10 years ago), nor do I care too much to. In college, I bought a floor-length, black rabbit fur coat from a Salvation Army for $7 and wore it to an apartment party on a chilly night. Some activist-in-training mowed me down, a can of Natural Light vibrating in her quivering hand. She feigned tears at my homicidal garment and shouted me out of my plastic lawn chair, exiling me from the party. Looking back, I remember shrugging and wishing her luck out there in the big, bad world.

[“I think my tour bus just forgot me.”]

Hopefully you all had splendid holidays. I’m thankful for health this year… just health. And the health of those I love.

Cheers.

Careeeeeeeyyyy THIS, now THIS ONE REALLY IS my FAVORITE. I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat over the entire ensemble.

Frickin A on that floral with the fur, but for me – it’s the hat that sends it clear into the outerspace. TRIP!

ps-last night over, um, a few vodka tonics and some champagne at the uncle’s house the chef spills the beans that he bought and wore a fur (think pimptastic) to school with sneakers, jeans and a t while at colorado state. this occurred when the uncle walked out in his wife’s silver fox coat from 10 years ago. impromptu fashion show over turkey and jager? HALP! AHAHAHA!! for some reason I totally thought of you. i tried to get them to give me the coat…

Gorgeous! One of my faves for sure! We’ve been carrying a lot of “D of the R” lately @ Anthro, and I am in love with their pants! So jealous of the vest! I’ve been on my own hunt on Ebay for one! 😉

Love! It’s great that you worked the hat into your colder weather wardrobe as well. That dress on you was probably one of my favorite posts last winter. You never fail to change things up with accessories.

Aw, “deep, soul connection with a petite Beagle who stole my heart” — Marley definitely misses you (and your hilarious interpretation of Marley’s deepest thoughts!!)

Had such a blast with you and Rob! I am so glad you two were able to join us (and sorry about the wicked hangover).
